Bradley has a long history of use as a first name in the UK - it's not as trendy as people think. It's not something I'd use, but I think it's okay. I'm not so keen on Billy - the y ending seems a bit cutesy and it reminds me of goats - but Bill is fine (as an nn for William).

I rather like Bradley.I would never use Billy on its own. Way too nicknamey and childish. I feel that it should only be used as a nickname for William, and then can be shortened to Bill once the child reaches adulthood. I've known many adult Bills, but no adult Billys.Even so, I don't care for Billy or Bill. Billy and Bill were the ubiquitous nicknames for William in my generation, and there were many of them. I guess that's why people of my generation turned away from them and began using Will instead. My son's name is William, after his father, and I remember the one thing I did NOT want was for him to be called Billy or Bill, so he has always been Will.

Billy's all right as a nn for William.Bradley is just one of those trendy "br" starting, -ley ending names.

I have to say, I'm not too keen on either. Bradley is a better name than Billy, but I'm not crazy about either.

I love Billy as a nn for William. Bradley is quite trendy where I live (or was about 5-10 years ago) and I dislike it.

I'm really not a fan of either. Billy is ok only as a nn for William, Bradley is really nms.
