[Opinions] Rowan
I've had this name on my mind recently. It's one of the few unisex names I like. WDYT? Is it better on a boy or a girl? I'm leaning more towards girl, maybe because it reminds me a bit of Rowena, which I really like, but with a pleasantly androgynous nuance.

I absolutely love this name! I think it's very feminine, not sure why.

I like it for boys only. I think it has a rather masculine sound to it. Perhaps my mind is a bit biased because I think my first associations with the name were male.

I quite like it but much more for a boy.

I like it too. I've only ever come across it on boys, but I think it's fine on both.

It's all boy to me, and I like it; Rowena is good for a girl, but I can't for the life of me see Rowan as any more female than, say, Benjamin or Gareth.

I like it on a girl. It's been my #1 choice for a future daughter for a while :)

I like it, and prefer it on a boy. It's one of the few unisex names that I actually like on a boy. It's nice on a girl too though...definitely not too masculine.

oh and by the way...(m)It's interesting how most people perceive it as masculine mainly. The one Rowan I met in real life was female, though of course there's actor Rowan Atkinson, who plays Mr Bean. It's funny because normally I like my girls names feminine, but I'm drawn to the "boyshness" of Rowan on a girl.

I slightly prefer it for a boy, but I think it's nice for both genders.

I prefer it on a boy, but I don't hate it on a girl. I think Rowena is much, much prettier, though.

To me Rowan is a tree name and as such male (noun tree is male in Croatian). I love it:-)

Reminds me ofthe film Wicker Man (the orginal) where one of the girls were named Rowan

I like it on a boy better, as that's how I first heard it, but I know a girl named Rowan too.

I know it's unisex, but I just can't see it on a girl & it is one of my favorite male names. It seems masculine to me.

The only Rowan I know is a boy, and I like it fo a boy but love it fo a girl. It's like Morgan, I like it for both genders, I think those are the only two unisex names I like.

I like Rowan a lot, but only for a boy. I don't understand why people use Rowan on girls, why not just go with Rowena which is lovely for a girl?
