[Opinions] Simon
I'm starting to think more and more about Simon. I don't see many Simon's where I live - I've never met a single one. It seems like a very British name, very sweet and quirky and smart, and I rather like that. I definitely see it as a nerdy, slender, intellectual kind of name. Here are some combos I made up right this very second - care to share some of yours, and how Simon makes you feel?Simon Casper
Simon James
Simon Theo
Simon Geoffrey
Simon Errol
Simon Felix
Simon Frederick
Simon George
Simon Hugh
Simon Leopold
Simon Rex
Simon Oliver
Simon Oscar
Simon Pericles
Simon Rupert
Simon Rufus
Simon Sylvester

I still love Simon even though it is my ex's middle name. He once told me he sort of wished it was his first name because it is far less common. I really feel the same way about it, minus the British thing, haha. I once met a Finnish guy named Simon who fit the rest of your description. I like these combos the best:
Simon Casper
Simon James
Simon Felix --I love this! I have troubles pairing Simon and Felix... It seems I should have put them together!
Simon Frederick
Simon George
Simon Hugh
Simon Leopold
Simon Rex
Simon Oliver
Simon Oscar

I want to marry Finnish Simon real bad. and have his half Finnish babies.

I've always found Simon unattractive, probably because it starts with a Sigh. I know a couple of pleasant, intelligent Simons but nothing helps.

I like Simon a lot. It makes me feel quiet and comfortable and smart. In a special kind of way. I do think it's gonna shoot up hipsterpopwise soon, but you know, like, whatever dude.I have a real hard time with combos. My top for ages was Simon Francis Benedict. Then I went with like Simon Xanadu and Simon Hyacinth and stuff. From yours I like best Simon Geoffrey, Simon Frederick, Simon Pericles, Simon Rupert.

simon Francis Benedict is beautiful!

I, too like it.I'm slightly worried that it's becoming trendy, but I haven't seen much proof and I agree that it sounds British.I like Simon for the same reasons you do. It's quite bookish, with a slightly melachony air to it. It's very down-to-earth as well.Of yours I like:Simon James
Simon Theo
Simon Errol
Simon Felix - my favorite.
Simon Oscar
Simon Pericles
Simon Rupert
Simon RufusI like:
Simon Noble - my favorite
Simon Christopher (I have no idea, but I've suddely really started liking Christopher.)
Simon Raphael
Simon Roy - just for the juxtaposition of the two names. Simon is so British and upper-crust, while Roy is so do decidely American working-class.

I know a Simon. He's a couple years younger than me and is quite possibly the most arrogant, self-absorbed person I've ever met. It's a shame, because I do like the name a lot.I like a lot of your combos, particularly Simon Casper, Simon Frederick, Simon Oliver, Simon Pericles (neat!), and Simon Rupert.

Oh I love Simon :) I know some Simon's and I also have a cousin named that, but he spells it Zimon. I like Simon James, Simon Felix, Simon Leopold, Simon Oliver, Simon Oscar and Simon Rufus.

I know umpteen Simons and they range from short, sharp, ginger and football-loving (my funny cousin) to tall, dark, prettily Byronic and slightly dim (pal from art college, so gorgeous and so very clueless!). I used to think it was pretty boring, but it's really grown on me lately, too, and I think I'd use it. It's a friendly sort of name. I'm always surprised it's not used much across the pond, being biblical and all.All your combos work for me. Particularly liking Simon Geoffrey for some reason, and I'm chuffed to see Simon Rupert.

I'm chuffed that you said "chuffed". What an awesome word. I wish I was British. Rupert really is one of the most excellent names around. I also wish I could have hooked up with the prettily Byronic, artsy and dim-witted Simon. We could have had beautiful babies and named them all Simon, after their dad.

Simon FrederickVery handsome ... love it. Simon Oliver and Hugh is quite nice, too.

I like the name, especially because of the Lord of the Flies character. I like the combo Simon Hugh, and Simon Hugo would be good, too.

I have a friend that had a baby in June, and named him Simon James. Siblings are Grace, Emma, Jack, and Ethan.I am really hot-and-cold about the name. Sometimes I think it's really cute, but sometimes I think it sounds whiny and harsh.

It is rather whiny isn't it. I don't know what's wrong with me, but sometimes I love whiny names. Whiny spoiled-brat namby-pamby names like Simon, Chauncey, Geoffrey, Archibald, Reginald, Vernon, Crispin, Filibert - the kind of names you can just envision a thin, angular, overdressed woman with really tight hair screeching out at the top of her lungs. I think I need professional help.
