[Opinions] Elzina
I'm fairly sure that Elzina started out as nickname for Elizabeth, but I know it was sometimes given as a name in its own right in the 19th century. Elzina also appears to have the variant spelling Elsina.I'm liking it, and I'm curious: WDYT? Does it work as a nn for Elizabeth? Could it stand alone as a name? Does it look made up to you? And do you prefer the s or z spelling?

Very interesting name--I like the s spelling best, but that's just me. Definitely pretty. It does look made up, because it's not a common or well-known name.

Elzina looks made up and sounds old-ladyish to me. Elsina looks more current, though I'm not real fond of it, either.I wouldn't use either name as a nn for Elizabeth. Both are capable of standing alone and are too long to be a nn.
