I DID NOT make this name up. I actually found it when I searched "destiny" in the little box. I think it's kinda funny! What about you?

It's actually sort of awesome. It makes a great goddess name. Perhaps we should revive her worship, and have a Cult of Urd.

Funny you should say that - Urd is a character in the anime Aa! Megami-sama (Oh! My Goddess!) She is a goddess. :) They all have odd names.. Belldandy, Skuld, and I can't for the life of me remember any more because it's been so long since I've seen it.

Hilarious! There's a male character in Cold Comfort Farm called Urk, and they'd be a splendid match.

It makes me think of a story my sister once told about her husband. My brother-in-law is famous for malapropisms. Once my sister wanted to watch "Jane Eyre" on television, but her husband was planning to watch a hockey game. He agreed to go upstairs to watch the game. As he left, he said, "Okay, you can watch your Jane Urd now."
She and I laughed and laughed at that. Anyway, that's what the name made me think of, so it made me laugh.

Urd the turd! That's what came to mind immediately. I'll give this one a miss.

how nifty. I think it would make an excellent dog name. Or maybe a turtle name. Oh yeas. this has turlename written all over it. Something that lives forever should be called Urd.

It WOULD make a good turtle name! Yeah, it's more an animal name than a human name. Like Rover. :o)
