[Opinions] Maelle
This is the name of the Canadian winner of the women's snowboard gold medal at the Winter Olympics, and it caught my eye. WDYT? I wouldn't use it but I think it's cute.

I like it....but mostly for association's sake. I had a friend Mael (female, spelled this way; her full name was actually Ellen Mael) in high school. She was interesting and a little bit quirky and so nice to me. I've never met another one since so have only those good feelings to go with the name.

I was asked how that was pronounced when I saw that, so I had to look it up here. x) I quite like it, actually. It's sweet and not too common.

Lovely! :)
May would be cute as a nickname.

It reminds me too much of Mayella which reminds me of the girl from To Kill a Mocking Bird.

I think it's cute, too. I don't love it terribly, but I agree it is an eye catching name. I thought it said Maella at first and I was almost weirded out because I have a Sim with that name and thought I'd made it up.

I was watching the race last night with some friends, and when the announcer pronounced it as "my-ELL" I said I liked it. One friend said she would "like it more if it were pronounced 'MAY-ell'."

It is cute. I didn't know how to say it when I first saw it written...however, since she won a medal for Canada, I pronounce it "Perfect"!
