Somewhat... but generally the names I like aren't really popular. Well known, yes, but not commonly used... except for possibly in literature. Like if I ever have kids they would be named Jane and Charles "Charlie".
Jane is very well known but is hardly used because of the fact that everyone knows it. And Charlie is used a lot in literature and people recognize it if they see it, but he will hardly be Charlie J. or whatever. ^_^
