[Opinions] Tawny
What do you think of the name Tawny for a girl? I like it, because it reminds me of tawny owls. And, years ago, I used to watch the TV show Even Stevens, and Tawny Dean was my always favourite character. Do you like Tawny? Can you think of any combos for it?

I think it sounds like a prostitute's name.

Tawny sounds very "white trash" to me. I haven't actually met any Tawnys, so I'm not sure why I think that.

It does sound a bit trashy now that others have pointed it out. I didn't initially think that because of the Even Stevens association though.

Ick. It's a cheap, tacky kind of name, like a third-rate stripper. Like she'd have friends named Bubbles and Peaches and maybe even Chassittee.

Sorry, but I always found this name rather tacky.

I know a lady named Tawn and that's not so bad, but Tawny sounds a bit... well.. like a stripper from the 1970's name. Not a fan of the name but I think Tawn nn Tawny is a bit better.

I kind of like Tawny, but it seems kind of dated to the 80's.

I find it cheap sounding, along the same line as Brandy. I think that the fact that the alcoholic drink port is now called tawny (in Australia anyway) when it isn't made in Portugal add to that whole image for me.

I don't like colour names in general, and Tawny really doesn't appeal at all. Plus, I once knew an annoying dog named Tawny who sired a puppy named Fawny. Not a pleasant memory.
