[Opinions] Patrick
What do you think?
I go off and on with this name. Now, it seems really masculine and strong without being overbearing. It is common but not overly popular (at least not here in the US).
Is it too "Irish?"
What Patrick combos do you like (first or middle name)?

I *love* Patrick, but I'm a Fall Out Boy fan and therefore a completely hopeless case.
Lead singer of Fall Out Boy is named Patrick Martin. I kind of like it.
Patrick Alexander
Patrick Graham / Graeme
Patrick Leander
Patrick Reed (This is my cousin's name, but it's nice.)
Patrick Augustus
Patrick George
Patrick Milo / Miles
Patrick Florian
Patrick Owen
Patrick Cooper
Patrick Tierney
Patrick Harris
Patrick Edmund / Edmond
Patrick Nolan
Patrick Finley / Finlay
Patrick James
Patrick Oliver
Patrick Ryan
Patrick Jude
Patrick Emery / Emory
My mind kept wanting to say Patrick Henry, but that just screams US history to me.

I agree with you that it's a really masculine and strong name but I can't decide if I like it or not. Sometimes I think it's a really underrated name, sometimes I just think it's dull. However, I do not think it's too Irish but the Irish feel it might have definitely makes me like it more. I had a professor in Ireland named Patrick Paul (he was called Paul) and I think it's a pretty nice combo. He was a great professor, very nice and charming and incredibly intelligent. I think he made me see Patrick in a different light.
ETA: I think one reason I don't always like Patrick is beacause I truly despise the nickname Pat. I think it's awful and ugly. Yuck.

I like it, it's quite a pleasant name, indeed masculine without being too macho, and I don't think it's too Irish.
I love it! It's been on of my favorites for a long time. I feel about it similarly. I think it's such a nice guy name. I haven't played around with it too much since I sort of planned on using it (but then it just didn't fit my son). But Patrick Evan just jumped into my head and I kinda like it.
