I like it - it has a nice sound to it, very soft, that I find very attractive. I don't think it would sound bad with an English surname, however, I think it might be jarring to some to see it on someone without a discernibly non-Caucasian background. I know the name itself is Arabic in origin, and I know that it's also popular in the black community in America. I'm not saying that it's right, but I do think that there will be some who will make judgments and assumptions based on the name.
