Clare does seem like the most "spunky and courageous" of the spellings, doesn't it. It has a real strength to it. It kind of reminds me of other ancient, unsmiling, regally stoic names like Margaret or Hildegarde. In that way I suppose it makes it look quite modern and edgy, very hipster. I could totally see a Clare being something like... a nun with revolutionary ideas about religion and getting into lots of trouble, or a scientist. It's a very intellectual name.
