Louise. I've always found Louisa too long, and annoying for pretending to be Latin when it most assuredly isn't. But, that said, a lot depends on the flow with the ln: Louisa Smith is better than Louise Smith. If it was me, I'd seriously consider Eloise.

Louisa, as I prefer the 'ah' ending and think it sounds a little bit sweeter.

Louise. Not sure why.

Louise.I prefer Louise. I find it elegant and universal. In English speaking countries Louise is now seen as rather matronly and Louisa is the favourite on most naming boards, though Louise remains popular in Europe.I'm biased anyway because my Mother's name was Louise.

LouisaI prefer the look and sound of Louisa.

Louisa, it's my second favourite girls name. Louise is more popular and a bit dated where I live, and it's also the middle name of most girls I know.

Louisa. It's prettier and more romantic. Louise is rather unattractive and dowdy IMO.

I prefer Louisa as a first name but Louise as a middle name. It's the flow, I guess.

LouisaI just prefer the sound I guess. It's also a lot less common in my experience. It also reminds me of The Sound of Music (perhaps just because I'm currently dressed up as Maria for a party tonight!).

I played Louisa in a play version of Sound of Music. :)

Louisa! I adore Louisa and it's one of few girl names I really like. I don't like Louise at all. I don't know why. Adding an A shouldn't make that much difference but it does. It's something about the look and sound of Louise that doesn't feel right to me.

Louise. I really hate Louisa.

Louisa. I don't notice the "weeeez" part of Louise so much with Louisa. And it's just a touch more interesting and graceful.
