I like it as a nickname. It's sweet & nostalgic. I don't know how I feel about it as a full fn. I think it could stand alone, but you'd have to love it a lot to do that & I personally don't. I'd probably use it as a dog name before I'd seriously consider it for a child.

I do think of Dora the Explorer, but that isn't a deterrent to me. There was a show when I was younger called Allegra's Window & I'd still love to meet a little Allegra so I don't think the children's tv shows thing should put you off too much.
