I love Raine on a boyMainly because I associate it with musician Raine Maida, but I do think it is a cool name :) I personally dont like it on a girl.

I've never met a Rain in real life, but I like the sound of it. Rainn Wilson plays Dwight on "The Office"; I think he's the only Rain/Rainn I can think of.I prefer it for a girl. I think Rain Elizabeth is stunning, and Rain Sofia. I would avoid Reign because it's a little arrogant.

I've never met one of any gender, but I wouldn't mind seeing a little girl named Rain (or Raine)I like the Rain Sofia combo. ^^

I taught a young boy with that name, i think it was spelt "Rayne" or "Reign" I can't remember
I don't really like the name

I absolutely would NOT spell it differently. The only alternate spelling that I find even sort of okay is Raine. Reign = ugh on so many levels. =( I think Rain is a nice name, just a little too downbeat for most people to pull off all the time. It's girl-only for me. Rain Cordelia is nice.

In the Tswana language, the word Pula means Rain and is used as a given name; always female to my knowledge. The first syllable sounds like Pull, and the a on the end is just like the a on the end of Anna. Botswana is a desert country, and they value rain greatly: their currency is also the pula!In the UK, when Princess Diana's father married a woman called Raine (who was I think the daughter of Barbara Cartland the romantic novelist) the child used to make a nuisance of herself by singing "Raine, Raine, go away" over and over. Not a pleasant story. It's been suggested as a nn for Lorraine, but the Lorraines I've known have all been Lolly or Lori.

I like Raine on a girl, but only because of a character. Rain sounds equally masculine and feminine to me. I know a really cute first grader named Rayne. Rayn looks incomplete though. Reign would be cool, probably on a boy, although it would be a different word. I like Rain Liliana and Rain Cordelia.

I really like the name Rain and only for a girl. I've never met anyone with this name and I don't like alternative spellings. Rain Elizabeth, Rain Sophia (prefer this spelling) and Rain Liliana are all nice.

I like Rain for both genders, but just as a middle name. I also like Rayne for a girl.

I've never met a Rain (except a Lorraine who's closest friends called her Rainey or Rain occassionally and affectionately) but I can imagine it on either gender.Reign is the worst of those spellings. Who does she think she is, a monarch reigning over her subjects? Yuck. Raine I can see working, but Rain is the best and most practical.Rain Cecilia, Rain Paulina, Rain Elizabeth and Rain Sofia are pretty.

I prefer Raine, and as a MN.
Reina Cecilia sounds best of yours.
Reign looks alittle weird, but reminds me of "regn" which is the Swedish word for rain.

I've seen Rain (all different spellings) used a lot for middle names.
