Well, I'd love it as a first name, but I don't like it as a nn for Veronica. I guess it's alright, but it looks more like a feminine version of Nico. If it's a full-time nn, why not just make it the full name?
Nica sounds like a nice, friendly sort of person (I don't get that impression from Veronica)
