[Opinions] Pronunciation of Zara?
I'm really liking the name Zara at the moment. I find it spunky, yet sweet. I pronounce it Zahr-ah, as in car. However, I have heard it is a diminutive of Sarah. This makes me think that it is actually prounced like Zair-uh. What do you think? Thanks in advane for your replies!

I like Zara, but I like it pronounced ZARE-uh. I think it's cute and spunky.

I say it as zah-ra too.

I'd pronounce it the way you do: to rhyme with car.

All the Zaras I know (and they're British, Croatian and Spanish) pronounce it Zahr-ah.

It's a clothing chain where I live and is always pronounced Zah-ra. I actually prefer Sarah, but don't mind Zara at all, it's short and cute and has a pretty sound.

Zara is derived from the Arabic name Zahrah, not Sarah. It's pronounced "ZAR-uh" (as in 'car').

I'd say Zahr-a, too. It is one of two Z names that I think is kind of sweet. I normally dislike Z.

I pronounce it Zahr-ah too, this is the only way I've heard it.
