[Opinions] Roel
WDYTO Roel for a boy? I only just discovered this name. It's pronounced ROOL. I'm not sure how I feel about it.

Neat. It's strange enough to me that I'd learn the spelling and pronunciation. I like the sound too. I guess I'd like it more if it were really short for Roeland or Roelof. I do not like Reuel better, btw.

Hmmm. I learned of Reuel ("rool" or "ROO-ul") on these boards. Now I'd have to adjust to allow room in my brain for Roel too? I'm not sure I want to extend that much energy on a name / sound I'm not that interested in. Sorry. I love Roland, though.

I don't really like it-- it looks like rO-el. Also, rool sounds weird.

It's okay. I like Reuel better though.

I think it's nice, but it feels a little lacking to me. I much prefer the longer Roelof, though just Roel would probably be more usable in an English speaking country. As a nn for Roelof I think it's sweet and kinda cool.
