[Opinions] Re: Judith
I definitely don't think that it has too strong a Biblical/Christian/Jewish vibe to it. It's just an Old Testament name, like Rachel, Rebecca, and Susannah. People of all types use names like that, and Judith is no different. Heck, my grandson's name is Abraham! Now there's a name that might be argued has a Biblical/Christian/Jewish vibe! And my family is neither Jewish nor Christian! I am an atheist, and my daughter, while not an atheist, does not subscribe to any religious beliefs other than a general belief in a higher power. And I, the atheist, was the one who argued in favor of Abraham, in the face of my son-in-law's initial reluctance. I said that it had "a lot of Old Testament charm." Even though I'm an atheist, I recognize the fact that The Bible has had a great effect on our culture, is part of our common heritage, and has some great names in it.Okay, back to Judith. I've never thought it was bland, and can agree it has an edge, a weighty seriousness, and a hipster tone. I personally don't like it because I hate the JOOD sound. Simple as that, no more complicated!
