[Opinions] Marinne?
I was name-doodling (as I am apt to do) and instead of writing Marianne, I came up with Marinne (mah-reen).WDYT? I think it's kind of pretty, even though it's made up (and thus unusuable in real life). It's similar to Corinne, Marina, and Marine.I'll probably get over it, but that name struck me. Would you ever use it? Would you like to see it? Would you cringe if you encountered it? Would a Marinne get her name misspelled, mispronounced, or be mistaken for Marianne, Marin or Marine?

Marinne is my middle name -- it's a French name for girls.

I like it. It's not all that bad. It sounds and looks like a real name, which is good. I'd never use it though. Names like Marianne and Corinne aren't my style to begin with. I definitely wouldn't cringe it if I saw it on a baby though. Compared to most made-up and creatively spelled names, it's great.

I wouldn't ever use it because it sounds like Marine and when I think of a Marine I think of a tough soldier. I don't really even care for Marina but would quickly choose that over Marinne.

I just keep thinking of Marine World. I have trouble seeing Marinne as a name.

It just looks like a misspelling of Marianne, Marin or Marine to me. I think it'd definitely be mistaken for one of these, and mispronounced. If you like the sound, why not just use Marine?

I kind of love it! I like all kinds of variations of Mary. I like Marielle and Marianna and Mairi. So this is perfect to me. Also, I once saw in my baby name book the name Marini which was Swahili or something and meant "pretty, healthy". I fell in love with it! So yes, I might use this version of yours. :)
