[Opinions] Re: Nickname? ++
in reply to a message by Sela
A lot of these vary from a a bit of a stretch to a huge one. Some are other names' nicknames and some are kind of natural stretches akin to those of existing nicknames (like Metja or Fitja in the fashion of Tanja, Sonja, etc.).

Metta, Mette, Meta, Mita
Mies
Miep
Miet
Mitzi
Etta
Ettie / Etty
Tetty
Fima, unless you're in the New Orleans area and bristle at the soundalike to FEMA :-P
Mimi
Mia
Amie
Fifi
Fizza (doesn't make a lot of sense but it is quirky and neat)
Fitta, Fita, Fetta (except for being a soundalike to the cheese)
Amet, Amets
Fim (I love -im like Mim or Pim)
Finja, Finia, Fitja
Metia, Metja, Metje
Fiat (a car isn't the worst thing to share a name with, I'm sure)
Imma
Imke
Mattie, Matty
Masha
Tillie / Tilly (I had a great-grandmother Antonina "Tilly." It was a stretch in her case too!)
Mieke, Mika
