Congratulations!
You have adopted: Marya, Mel, Ryan, and Eliza!
Marya Kristina is a three year old girl from Russia. She was orphaned several months ago in an automobile accident. Marya often cries for her parents and older brother, but she is easily distracted and likes to play with new things.
Amelia Josephine “Mel”, Ryan Jacob, and Elizabeth Justine “Eliza” are siblings from the United States of America. Mel is twelve, Ryan is ten, and Eliza is seven. Ryan has Asperger’s Syndrome. The children have been orphans for six years, when their single father died in a shooting. Mel takes pretty good care of her siblings. She is caring and very introverted. Ryan is very attached to his sisters and doesn’t open to outsiders. Eliza is very talkative, but very tuned to her brother’s needs.

One year later
We want to thank you for the 4 wonderful additions to our family. We are doing great.
Of course Marya still misses her parents and brother but she does not cry as much as she used to and we celebrate their birthdays which have really helped her. She will be starting preschool soon and Sam loves to teach her new things.
Mel is a very good big sister. She is very helpful with Ryan and helps take care of all of her younger siblings. She is starting to come out of her shell a bit too.
Ryan had a very difficult time transitioning to our home and to having 5 new siblings. For a while he stuck to Mel like glue. However he has taken to model airplanes. He even got Alex into it. Things have been getting better. There is a wonderful special education teacher at the children's school who as worked wonders with Ryan. He gets along great with Jake who has ADHD who Ryan says "almost understands my mind" and Ben who has severe allergies and underdeveloped lungs because he is different too.
Eliza wasn't to wary around us but she was at school for awhile. Luckily she is in the same class as Ben so she had a brother to look out for her, and he did. She has started taking dance with her cousin Lucy and is very into it. She, Mel, Marya, and I take one day a month for a girls afternoon to the mall while Henry takes Jake, Ryan, Alex, Ben, and Sam out for a boys day. The kids really enjoy it.
