They're too Les Mis themed to use for siblings or in the same story. I like Eponine, and I think it's useable for a middle name in real life. I don't like Fantine as much, mostly because I don't like the character and even the name looks weak for some reason...

I love both of the names -- and it's not because of Les Miserables. I prefer Eponine.

I like Eponine a lot, but Fantine sounds a bit like a soft drink (someone mentioned that in the comments section under Fantine and now I can't get that association out of my head). I do like Fan as a nn for Fantine, though.

I really like the name Eponine and think it could be usable. I dislike Fantine but it is still usable. However, I don't think they would be usable in a story as they are already famous character names from Les Miserables.

How are they pronounced?

I feel that they are too French for myself, an English speaker who took French in high school but remembers very little of it, and who has spent a total of two days in France in my entire life, to pass judgment on. They just sound strange and foreign to me, but I'm sure they sound different to a French speaker.

I really don't find either very usable in an English speaking country. I think that it would just lead to headaches.
