[Opinions] Ann and Maud
I usually profess a slight preference for Maude and a strong preference for Anne over Maud and Ann respectively. However, I'm currently quite fond of the trim simplicity of the latter two names; also, they remind me of staunch and soulful working-class women from the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries (perhaps in Ireland). What are your opinions?Which of the following combinations speak to you?

I like Ann Cordelia and Maud Zenobia. My great grandmother was a strong working class woman in Ireland in the late 19th/early twentieth century :) I prefer Anne though.I think I prefer Maud though - I go back and forward.

Paul! It's so nice to see you around again!Although I strongly prefer Maude, I can see the appeal of Maud.Ann is another story, though. I'm with Anne Shirley (i.e. of Green Gables) on this one, "A-n-n looks dreadful, but A-n-n-e looks so much more distinguished."I love/especially like the following combos...(I'm sorry, but I just can't do Anne without the 'e'.)Anne Beatrice
Anne Beatrix
Anne Camellia (This is my favorite Anne combo.)
Anne Cecilia
Anne Cecily
Anne Clothilde
Anne Cordelia

Maud Helene (Ooh, lovely!)

I love Maud and Maude (I just can't decide which one I prefer), and I like Ann, but I think I prefer it as a middle name. As a first name, I'm partial to Anne.Of your Maud combos I likeMaud Alethea
Maud Althea
Maud Beatrice
Maud Eleanor
Maud Eleonore
Maud Eugenia

Maud Garance - I'm not sure if I like this combo. How do you pronounce Garance? The French way or the English way? Um, is there an English way? ;-)
Maud Ginevra
Maud Harriet
Maud Heloise
Maud Henrietta
Maud Isobel
Maud Leonora - I think I'd prefer Leonore...

I'm not a big fan of Ann or Maud. Ann reminds me of the word 'and,' and Maud has an unattractive sound to my ear.I do like Ann Beatrice and Ann Eurydice (this has an interesting flow). Of your Maud combos, I like Maud Philippa and Maud Silvia best.
