It's ok... Works well as a mn. Can go ok as a fn w/ some names. The fact it's not overused is a point in its favour. Maybe go through a list of combo possibilities and try it on both sides of a bunch of names and see how you like it either as fn or mn.
Just for fun, since a friend of ours is somewhat unsure whether she still likes Yuri as much as she originally did, we've taken to calling her Yuri to see how she likes hearing the name all the time... Then by the time she has a daughter (no immediate plans, but a some day in the future concept), she can have a better idea whether or not she wants to use it and live w/ hearing it all the time.
