[Opinions] Trista
I am really starting to like Trista, but I have the feeling that it is too 70's/80's. Is it?

more like 70s/80ish twist on preppy name of the 90s and after?Never started hearing Tristan until the 90s and Trista's just a twist on that that happens to rhyme w/ Krista (very 70s... lots of Kristas in my gen.). Not a fan of naming a child something that means sad though, so I'd never use it.

I like it. It doesn't give off the feel of a particular decade to me, so it doesn't seem dated. Even if it is, at least a little Trista would be unique.

I just can't get past it meaning sad in Spanish. If I didn't speak Spanish I'd like it.

I've only met one Trista and she's in her early 20s. It doesn't feel dated to me becuase it doesn't seem all that popular.

I know a first grader with this name. It is close to Trisha, and there was one in my grade (she was a real BEEEEEEP) and one the year ahead of us.

It is a little dated, but the fact that it ends in an A (like the popular names Isabella, Emma, Sophia, Olivia, etc.) does make it fit in better. I think Trista is really cute and would have a really unique feel nowadays!
