Homer, Hector and Horace remind me of each other. All are overlooked, classical Greek names. I'd love to see Homer (Hector and Horace) make comeback(s). Homer is less "down-home" than classical, to me. But I can see that association too. Very nice.

Hector was my Father's middle name, also my Grandfather's.It was a quite common name in the area where I grew up, nothern Nova Scotia.One reason, I'm told, was that many people who came as immigrants fron Scotland arrived on a sailing ship, the "Hector".And were, presumably, happy to have arrived safely in the new country.
So the name was passed on.
