It's a cool name. I think there was a contestant on Project Runway named Althea so it makes me think of a pretty, cool, artsy girl (which is an awesome image if you ask me). I think Althea sounds best with middle names that have 3 syllables, especially those with a strong first syllable, like:Althea Bernadette
Althea Cecily
Althea Clementine
Althea Genevieve
Althea Margaret
Althea JosephineAlthea is an old name, but it peaked in US popularity in the 20s. Most people of that time have passed away, so it's sort of new and stylish in the bringing-back-the-unheard-of-oldies kind of way. I think it should be paired with a name to balance that: a really solid, classic, feminine name, like Margaret or Catherine.

I used to know a big, sassy Jamaican named Althea. She was an interesting woman. It has definitely given me a specific snapshot of the name. I would stick with something a little unusual for its middle name; you have some great combos on your list. Some that I like would include:Althea Vivienne
Althea Celestine
Althea Marjorie
Althea Lettice
Althea Winifred (I don't particularly care for Winifred, but they work well together)
Althea Garance

I like it but I have a good association with it as it is a lady who has my same voice teacher and her lessons is after mine. She is very sweet.Althea Margaret is my favorite.
