[Opinions] Aurelia, Aulelia or Aurlelia?
I know the last two aren't real but she's a character in my story. I've always had her name is Aurelia however the other characters have accents that lead them to say her name differently than it is spelled. This is obviously problematic because if a novel you can't actually hear the characters talking, you make your voices up on your own, so I wanted the spelling to reflect the pronunciations.Anyway they way the say it, it's not that the r is gone, it's just 'hidden' like how asian people have trouble with r's and l's but you can hear a hint of both letters in there. The accent isn't asian but that's the closest comparison.I could of course just spell it Aurelia and bring up the fact that other characters pronounce it differently due to the accent but I figured I see what you guys thought of the alternate spelling before I went ahead with any one idea.

I would stick to Aurelia and bring up the pronunciation difference. , if you're using a difference spelling then you would still have to bring it up I think so that it wouldn't appear an irritating typo. If it was only one character using a different name then the different spelling could be helpful, but if it's consistent in a large group then it would just get irritating for the reader I think.

I like Aulelia. Aurlelia is a little too conglomerated looking. I'd probably just keep spelling it Aurelia though.

Yea I'm not a big fan on Aurlelia, it just looks plain ugly but I figured I'd include it because it includes both letters and for some people that may be an easier way to tell how to pronounce it. It's really inbetween Aurelia and Aulelia for me. I'm still leaning towards Aurelia and then just explaining it within the story but we'll see, I could always change my mind lol
