I would pronounce it as Joe-a-kim in English. In Swedish, it is pronounced as Yoo-ah-kim."You sought a flower and found a fruit. You sought a spring and found a sea. You sought a woman and found a soul. You are disappointed."

I pronounce Joachim as YO-a-kim. That's how it's done in Denmark.

I say JOH-uh-kim. It's how we pronunce it in my church when we do the "Saints Ann and Joachim pray for us" thing.I really love the name, and would totally consider using it. I don't like Joaquin at all, though; I don't see its charm at all.Array
