Help[Games] Non-Traditional Family Congrats Sign Up
My Continue the Story Congrats only has one more round, and I thought I'd put that one aside for a while and try a new one. This new congrats is just something I wanted to try. Seems to me like just about every single congrats on here deals with the traditional family. We all know there are tons of different kinds of familes out there, so this game is going to deal with them. You can sign up as any of the following, or any combination thereof:
--Same-sex couple
--Single parent (you will get your child next round but in this one you must explain why you are going to be a single parent when the baby is born. In second round, you can opt to still be a single parent and have more kids or you can get an SO.)
--Interracial/cultural couple
--Unwed and seperate couple
--Unwed but together couple
--Blended family (stepparents and stepkids who are very close and treat one another as blood family, you put at least one kid for each family in your sign up and they'll have more together)
--All-adopted/mostly adopted family
--Any other non-traditional family, just let me know what it is and explain it to me!
Rules

Bit of backstory: Ari's family had immigrated to Russia (hence the lack of patronymics), and had given him up for adoption at 6 when they could no longer afford to care for him. Julia was born to a single mother who passed away giving birth to another child (that did not survive) when Julia was nearly 3. Ari and Julia grew up together in the same Russian orphanage for about 5 years. They were best friends from the time they met. When Ari was 12, he was adopted by Elior and Maya Roth, a Jewish American couple who had made aliyah to Israel. 8 year old Julia was adopted barely a week later by Sergey Ivanov, a US Ambassador, and his wife Madeleine.
The two children did not see each other again for ten years despite all attempts to make contact. When an 18-year-old Julia went on a trip to Israel with the Birthright organization, she was happily shocked to see one of the soliders joining her group was "her" Ari, now 22. They barely left each other's side the whole rest of the trip and have been together ever since. Julia finished college and went into medical school for pediatrics while Ari finished up his military service and immigrated to the United States. After receiving his citizenship, he put his skills to good use and joined the Secret Service.

Byron Theodore Farren divorced his former wife--Elizabeth Marissa Ritchuell--for specific reasons. Elizabeth was not a very good mother. She abused her children and her husband. She set a bad example for her little boys, and didn't care at all for them. Leo and Lys spent much of their time at their grandparents' because Byron worked most of the day, and he didn't want the little three and four year old boys hanging out with their abusive mother. He finally took an initiative and divorced Elizabeth for the safety of his children.
Josepha Catherine Istoh married the guy of her dreams, Robert Heinrich Garnet, and gave birth to twin daughters. Not even two months after Gabrielle and Danielle were born, Robert was in a car accident and killed. Josepha and her little girls were at his funeral, and while Gabi and Dani were staying at a neighbor's house, Josepha sat by Robert's grave all day mourning for the loss of her dream come true. She got a job and put Dani and Gabi in daycare, which she hated to do.

Instead of doing a traditional residency, Philippe decided to join Doctors Without Borders and was assigned to a remote village in Mauretania. It was there that he met his future wife.
Lingaire had a very different childhood than her husband's. The illicit lovechild of the French diplomat to Senegal and a beautiful Wolof government secretary, Lingaire was raised by her mother Aminata in the capital city of Dakar. Though he was uninvolved in Lingaire's day to day life, he did pay to send her to Kamuzu Academy, a brand new boarding school in Malawi. At first Lingaire was miserable to be so far away from home, but she eventually excelled in languages and was offered a full scholarship to Cairo University, where she studied romance languages. Right after college she was offered a job working as a translator for Doctors Without Borders, and she and Philippe happened to both be stationed in Mauretania, where they tended to the inhabitants of the remote Wolof Village. They quickly fell head over heels in love, and were married four years later. They now live in London, where Lingaire (who goes by Leticia to everyone other than family) works as a corporate translator and Philippe is a pediatric infectious disease specialist at the Great Ormond Street Hospital.

I've going to have three men in a relationship. They've been together for years so they're used to this. They work well together. :)

Leo convinced her to keep the child, but he was left with the little girl, Mabel after she was born. Her mother is no in her life, but she has been brought up as Leo and Rónán's daughter since she was born.
Murray joined them two years ago. He was hired to look after the house and pets while Leo was busy with his writing (and attempting to look after Mabel) and Rónán was away at work as a theatre director. Both boys became quite fond of him and he was quite fond of their family so it all happened rather more naturally than most people would expect. They're decided they're happy and stable enough to consider adopting more children so that Mabel doesn't have to grow up and only child. Beside, among the men there are three laps and six hands- that's enough for plenty of children, they figure.

He promised her they would be a family and would make it work, but when his music career started to take off he decided there wasn't enough room in his life for Hallie or their baby. She never planned on being a single mother at 16, but for her baby's sake she'll have to try and make it work.

A couple of years later Amelia fell pregnant again, a true blessing from the Lord. The Prophet told LeMoyne that the child would be a girl, and that because he will have two daughters he must take a second wife & be sealed to her because the Lord desires him to have a son.
LeMoyne dutifully followed his Grandfather's calling and took 16 year old JoJo Rigdon, daughter of a rival Prophet as his second wife as a way to bring a peace between the two factions. Soon afterward Deborah Jean was born to LeMoyne & Amelia.

My Family: Be Warned, story of abuse within
Yeah. The story below was taken from my family on a DF board, but the name of the fiance has been changed because I don't know what will happen with him.

Just twelve years ago, the Wahlberg family was the stereotypical "perfect" family. They had three children, and at almost 6, just turned 4, and 2 1/2, the kids were just close enough to be best buddies. But as that fateful year of 1998 progressed for the Wahlbergs, the good times ended. Just three days before Sam's third birthday, Mr. Wahlberg died in a horrific car accident. The children, fortunately, had not been in the car, but Mrs. Wahlberg had, and it had left her with significant damage to her body and a shattered since of hope. Over the next several years she went through many boyfriends, and had a daughter with a man who left her, just several days after the birth, when he found out the baby had been a girl. Soon after the boyfriend left, Mrs. Wahlberg began drinking. Whenever she was drunk she would often leave them children alone. In late December of 2002, while she was pregnant again, Mrs. Wahlberg married a man she had just met. He wasn't the father of her child but he had promised her he would care for her and her growing amount of children, and he did, right until Joshua was born. When the Mrs. was still in the hospital, the abuse began. At first it was just a few slaps, here and there, when he was very angry, but not much later it developed into something much worse. At the age of 11, Joseph didn't know what to do. At the time, he believed the abuse was only happening to him, so he began spending nights sleeping in the back of his mother's car. His mother never saw the abuse that was happening to him and he never told her, because he thought his stepfather was making her happy. Just a few days after Lily was born, he found out that his stepfather had been hurting his sisters. Joseph came to that revelation when he found hand shaped bruises, where his stepdad had help Katie down.
