Taylor and Mackenzie are fine for boys, but I dislike them for girls.I agree that Taylor has been overdone. Same with Mackenzie. The sibset strikes me as late 1990s-early 2000s trendy, and the filler middle names don't help. Perhaps the middle names have some kind of personal significance though, so I don't want to harp on the names too much just in case.

My brother and SIL are likely naming their daughter Taylor :(

Not very creative, is what I say.
Not dreadful of course.

yuk. what a perfectly ugly sib set.

This is the sort of names that might become very dated on the long run.

The total absence of creativity is ... startling!

i've always thought of Taylor as a boys' name.... or a frontier profession. :)

I know the same sibset...I know sisters named Mackenzie and Taylor. I don't know their mns though. Mac (well, they used to call her Mac) is 7 and Taylor is 5. They're getting a little sister soon and her name is Kaylie (or Kaylee, or Kailey, or something.)

Well at least she can fall back on her beautiful mn if she doesn't like her fn, when she gets older. Talia Grace wouldv'e been beautiful!

Ironic that he teaches creative writing... What's creative about Taylor and Mackenzie?

Ah!That's totally exactly what I thought when Mackenzie was born. :] I may have even put it in the BA post.

I don't have anything *against* Taylor, but I agree that it's a little tired. I see it as a 90's name.Of course, if they named their other daughter Mackenzie Lynn, did you expect anything NOT 90's trendy? ;)

Taylor baffles me especially becausehe's a high school teacher. There are loads of Taylors at that school, in the grades he teaches. I've had other teachers mention that that deters them from certain names.Mackenzie makes a little more sense because I've never met a Mackenzie, and I'm pretty sure there weren't any in my school. I don't think I saw any in any of my yearbooks, at least. It strikes me as more 00's trendy--I'd expect her sister to be Avery or Hayden or Alexis or something. Not that those are better.
...:P he needs to have a son. They were apparently considering River for a boy when they were expecting Mackenzie, and from what I've gathered, Roland for a boy this time.

Too bad he didn't have a boy! I like both River and Roland.

Popularity doesn't matter to some people. In fact, some prefer more popular names because they like the fact that they might help their child fit in. I don't get it, either. :P

Yep, agreed.

It's not bad or anything but certainly not stylish or contemporary. Very late 90s, especially with Grace as the middle name. Same with the other combo.I don't mind Taylor and I like Grace but it's boring as a middle name. Lynn is also boring in the middle and I like McKenzie and Makenzie but not so much Mackenzie it looks harsh.

It's NMS but I don't think it is all that bad

Really, another baby girl named Taylor, that's disgusting. I cannot think of a more masculine name that is used on girls
