[Opinions] Celia
What do you think of it in general? How do you pronounce it; SEEL-yuh or SEE-lee-uh? Does it 'go' with my other top names? August(boy), Dorian(boy) and Maisie. If not, what other girls names do you think would fit?Thank you!

I think it goes. I personally pronounce it See-lyuh. I think it is lovely and quite classic without being very mainstream (i.e. Mary, Elizabeth, Catherine). I also think it looks better and sounds better than Cecelia.

I love Celia and always have, and I pronounce it SEE-lee-a.With August and Dorian it would be fine; could be a tad too formal with Maisie.

I love Celia, which I usually pronounce "SEEL-yah." Also, I think it fits quite well with August and Dorian; however, I'm not particularly fond of it as a sister to Maisie.

Love it, a personal favorite for a nn for Clefairies. That pink poke'mon that lives on Mt. Moon. If its good enough for my Poke'mon, it's good enough on a child.

Really, don't make fun of my Poke'mon comment.

Ha ha I wasn't going to! I used to play Poke'mon when I was younger!

I meant the one who ordered a hoaxer to go to a poke'mon forum.

I love Celia. I pronounce it SEEL e ya. I think it's a beautiful underused classic. your other names seem to be in the same category. Rock on!

I find it romantic, beautiful and adorable - but I still can't really say that I like it. I say SEE-lee-ə and I think it goes very well with August and Dorian, not Maisie though. Maisie is too nicknamey and doesn't have the same connections as August, Dorian and Celia have.

I put a carat and a 3 and the entire message didn't show up....wow.Okay. LOVE.SEEL-yuh or SEE-lee-uh, it doesn't matter much to me. When I pronounce them, there isn't much of a difference.August, Dorian, and Celia all work together. Maisie seems a bit out-of-place. I think "cat" or something when I hear Maisie, while August, Dorian, and Celia give a more mature vibe.If you're set on Maisie, though, it can fit. Not perfectly (at least IMO), but I'd rather see August, Celia, Dorian, and Maisie than...I don't know, a female name that starts with a B.

Oh wow! I didn't even realize the initials! (Personally, it doesn't bother me at all, but thanks for pointing that out!)

I know a little girl named Celia (See -lee-uh). I like it. It seems to be making a comeback.

I think it's pretty, but nothing to write home about. I pronounce it SEEL-yuh, and I think it goes fine with the other names.

I pronounce it Celia. I like it a lot.I think it goes pretty well with your boys names. Not sure about Celia and Maisie-- Celia seems a lot more mature.

I love Celia. It's so crisp and clean. I suppose I pronounce it "SEEL-yuh," but there isn't much difference between the two pronunciations when I say them anyway.Of course classic Celia belongs in the same blood line as August, Dorian and Maisie. But if you should happen to run out of birth control and need more female names, how about:Adele, Evelyn, Virginia, Hazel, Anne (Nan?), Daphne / Laura / Laurel, Ellen (Nell?), Julie, Bryony, Jessamine, Glynis, Bridget, Nora.Could I interest you in Marjorie instead of Maisie? I love Maisie too, don't get me wrong. But for some reason I see Celia and Marjorie together and to do that I have to blow up Maisie. :-)

Thanks! I do actually like Marjorie, but I really can't get into the nickname 'Marge' which in my opinion is probably unavoidable. That being said, I love Maisie and its been pretty much my top girl name forever, so I guess no Marjorie for me. (:

Funny, I've been meaning to start a thread on Marjorie today (again. I'm a bit in love with this name, you know...)
Marge is not my cup of tea, either. But I think Jorie is not too bad a nickname...

Come on, Marjorie nn Midge is like an atomic bomb of cuteness.oops I meant to put this farther up the thread line. Sorry!

Midge is cute! But I can't drop Maisie, sorry! (:

Fine. Be like that. Marjorie's day is coming, you'll see. And then you'll be sorry. You'll just have to be stuck with darling, flirtatious, cute-as-a-button Maisie. :-* (mwah)

Love it! Underused, interesting, beautiful, and a great meaning. I pronounce it SEEL-yuh. It definitely goes with your other top names.

What's the meaning? I'm generally not too concerned with the meaning, but a nice meaning is always a bonus.

Celia and Celeste come from the same Latin root meaning, "celestial, heavenly." :-D

I like it, and I think it goes with your top names because it has that same charming, vintage feel. (except Dorian) I pronounce it SEE-lee-uh.
