Hi Everybody,
My partner is scottish and I'm looking for some beautiful scottish girl names, or handsome scottish boys names for our child.
The names he's suggested so far have been :/
So far I'm favoring Iona and Lachlan, but what are your favorites?

Oh, Ailsa. So lacy and sweet. :-)
Others I love:
Jean (Jeanie!), Catriona (Cat), Elspeth (Elsie), Lilias, Isla, Oighrig / Effie, Fiona, Edme. Plus honorary Scottish names like Mary (Queen of Scots) and Flora (Mcdonald).
For a boy:
Malcolm / Calum, Lachlan, Angus, Ian, Kirk, Alban (ancient name for Sotland), Gregor, Kyle, Duncan, Alasdair, Gavin, Torquil, Cameron, Ross, Ranald, Kenneth, Dougal, Andrew (not a Scottish name, but the patron saint of Scotland I believe).
Others I love:

...I think Scottish names are absolutely wonderful! And, as a whole, they due tend to be rather airy and beautiful for girls, and rugged and distinguished for boys.

Cairbre / Carbrey is wonderful. My grandfather was born in a small town called Rosscarbery. I've always thought of it as a GP mn. But now perhaps there's more validity to it since it's built on a traditional fn. There are small islands nearby called "Carbery's Hundred Isles." I never thought about Carbery (Carbrey) being a fn before. I always assumed it was a surname.
Cairbre / Carbrey has such a lovely sound to it. Thanks for pointing it out!
