Both names scream classy to me. Especially with shorter and straight to the point middle names. Dot is a great nickname. Dottie could work too, look at Geena Davis character in a league of their own.

Dot is very cute, I can totally see your "cute as a button" little girl. Dorothea is much better than Dorothy to me, even though they are quite similar. I think I know too many middle aged Dorothy's.Dorothea Ruby is nice. Maybe Dorothea Gail or Dorothea Mae? I think I like simpler mn's with it.

Love Dot.NOt so fond of Dottie, but Dot is adorable. I love Dorothy and Dorothea, too. I once saw Dorothena, but I think that's a little much...

I have a person in the non-traditional name game named Mary Dorothy, she goes by Dot.

I actually knew a Dorothy nn Dot when I was growing up...and a cat named Dot, too. Honestly, the girl I knew is sort of a bad association for me, but I'd love to meet someone else (young) with the name.

I can see myself using dot as a pet name, but not necessarily a nickname. I think Dora or the similar Dodie is more apporpriate and less cutesy and object-y. I really like all of your combos, but my favourties or Dorothea Louise, Dorothea Hazel, and Dorothy Eloise.

I like Dora but Dora the explorer ruins it for me.

I love most of the nn for Dorothy / Dorothea even better than the formal names, lovely as they are. Dot is super cute. Dodie is my ultimate fav.Dorothea Louise -- Being extra-picky today, I'm not happy with the repeated, stressed long "ee" sounds in this one. Then again, if I ever met a real Dorothea Louise in real life, I'd do a jig with joy. Dorothea Josephine -- A tad on the long side, but still nice.Dorothea Hazel -- This is my favorite of your Dorotheas. You know, the more I look at her the more Dorothea Louise is starting to grab hold of me. The styles of both those names are so right together. It's a shame about the flow. What to do, what to do? Hmm. At this point, it's a tie.Dorothea Ruby -- Nice. Ruby is a tad heavy next to light-as-air Dorothea though.Dorothea Millicent -- Could I interest you in Dorothea Melisande? I like the flow better.Dorothy Jane -- Sweet, simple and to the point. What's not to love?Dorothy Mae -- mae is feeling filler-ish here.Dorothy Rose -- Definitely filler-esque.Dorothy Juliet -- Dorothy is cute. Juliet is a bit of a drama queen. the two aren't sitting happily next to each other for me.

I LOVE the name Dot! How sweet. Did you ever see those movies "Dot and the Kangaroo" and "Dot and Santa Claus"? They are from the 1970s I think. My sister and I watched them growing up. Dot was a little girl who was brave, curious and compassionate. Good qualities and a nice association in my opinion.
