I knew a Noble. He was a child in my class when I was student teaching and he's eight. So I think it can definitely be used today and I don't find it old-fashioned at all.Unfortunately for me, the Noble in my class was well-known as being the troublemaker of the group and nearly got himself expelled from the (super religious private) school several times since entering it. So I certainly think names like this can backfire on the bearers.
