Are those two statements related: you like Marguerite and you like Peggy as a nn? I'm not sure I see a connection.

Um, Peggy is a nickname for Marguerite, and I like it.

I have never really thought about what Peggy is a nnn for, but I certainly wouldn't have guessed it'd be for Marguerite. How does that work?

I like Marguerite for the same reasons as you. Not fond of Peggy as a nickname, though, I think Margot is better because it keeps the style but not the length of Marguerite. Marguerite Adele

I really like Marguerite. It is very elegant and feminine, but it has a spiciness to it. I can't really judge the nickname Peggy, though, since it's my Mom's name.Of those combos I really like:

I like Marguerite Adele but I think Marguerite Adelaide had better flow. Marguerite Rosemonde, Marguerite Eustacia, and Celeste are nice, too.

It is my youngest sister's name. I love it- it is so elegant and strong. We call her Daisy for short but Peggy is quite cute too. You have some great combos there! My favourites are:Marguerite Dinah

How is Daisy short for Marguerite? Or Peggy for that matter? I'm confused.

Marguerite is the French word for 'daisy' so it has been used as a nn for it in English speaking countries over the years. Peggy is a traditional nn for Margaret and how it came about is a little confusing but my best guess is Margie -> Maggie -> Meggie -> Peggy...or maybe Marg -> Mag -> Meg -> Peg -> Peggy
