The illness of Empress Natalie was feared to be a severe malaise of unknown type, but then about six weeks later, the imperial doctor noted a change in the empress's appearance, as she was gaining weight, and a small bump appeared. The doctor instantly figured out that the malaise was morning sickness and that the bump was a baby growing inside. With that discovery, the empire became excited. However, the empress was having trouble with burdensome pain from the vigorously kicking baby inside. The imperial doctor recommended bed rest to relieve the pain. The emperor was worried but the war against the Halladey free-state was just as worrisome as his wife's condition. As the general of the Halladey free-state signed the treaty with the Emperor, the newest member of the imperial family was born.
