In the Kingdom of DunlinThe Queen is dead! Long live the King! Tragedy has struck the Royal Family, resulting in the deaths of a princess and the Queen. The princess died less than a day after she’d been born. The Queen and Prince Christopher decided to name her Mercy, in the hopes that Dunlin would be shown some and recover from this plague. Unfortunately, this was not meant to be. Queen Catherine passed within a few months; her eldest son was crowned King Frederick VI and, should anything happen to him, Prince Theodore will inherit the throne. As King Frederick is so young, Prince Christopher was named Prince Regent. It was immediately suggested by the Royal advisors that a marriage be arranged for the young King. The Prince Regent agreed, but only after a period of mourning for Queen Catherine had passed. A few months passed, and, while the Royal Family still mourned, it was agreed upon by the Royal advisors that a sufficient amount of time had passed, and it was time to get back to running Dunlin.A marriage contract was set up between young King Frederick and the eldest daughter of the King of Aglin. Princess Amelie (called Adéle by her family, since her mother’s name is Amelie; called Princess Amelia by the Dunlish) was brought to the Dunlish court. Although the King was very taken with his fiancée, Prince Christopher made it clear that the young couple were not allowed to marry until after King Frederick was of age. Suspecting that his son might act like a teenage boy (seeing as he was a teenage boy), Prince Christopher made sure that Princess Amelie’s rooms were far from the King’s and that extra security was placed at both doors. When the Royal advisors made a fuss, Prince Christopher pointed out that he and Queen Catherine had had plenty of other children that could inherit the throne, if his son never got the chance to marry and have children of his own.**Decided to change the name of new Queen (“Consort”).
