[Opinions] Kit
Kit is, in my opinion, and awesome nickname for Katherine...but what do you think of Kit for a boy? I think it sounds cute on a kid, and slightly rugged on an adult. What could it be a nickname for? What is your impression of the name? Any comments or opinions are welcome.

I love Kit for a boy, but only as a nickname. That being said, I don't think I like any names that could use Kit as a nn.

I usually imagine Kit as a nn for Chris- names.
I really, really like it.
I'm not sure if I like it more or less than Kip though.Still, I'd use it in a heartbeat.

I really like it and would use it as a nickname for Christopher. I knew a Christopher nn Kit.I also like it for a girl. You could use it for Katherine or Christina. I'd consider using it as a nickname for Keturah, though that might be a bit of a stretch for some people.

Kit on a boy makes me think of a mediocre MLB outfielder, Pellow, and some man with the last name of Carson.

Oh, I LOVE it! Don't like Christopher at all, love Christian nn Kit though. I don't like it on a girl, because it sounds too, I don't know - unsophisticated, 'trashy', for my liking, but it sounds gorgeous on a little boy and handsome, upper-class, pretentious for a grown man (and I love a bit of pretentiousness!). Funny how one name can change my perceptions when it's on different genders:)

Love it. Not really sure why, but it's neat and unexpected. I know a male Kit who's 30-ish, and it suits him very well - not 100% sure, but think he was born a Christopher.

I love Kit as a nickname for both Katherine and Christopher!

I knew a boy named Kit. It was short for Christian. It was nice.

I like it! It seems very adventurous. It's generally a nickname for Christopher... I don't know what else it would work well as a nn for.

Kinda prefer it for a girl. Think I'd go slightly outside the norm and use Christophine or Christian as the full name

I like Kit on both, but I think I prefer it on a girl! It could be a NN for these names (and any/all of their alternate spellings):Caitlin
Katherine
Katarina
Katya
Katalin
Katen:)

I think it's cute for a little boy. It's really upbeat. It makes me think of Kit Cloudkicker from Tail Spin. :) On an adult it doesn't seem rugged to me at all. It still feels quite youthful, and also sounds like a baseball player name. But that's kind of cool. I'd say it's a nn for Christopher.

I went to school with a boy named Kit, it was short for Christopher, I didn't realise until my final year at school that his name was not actually Kit.

I like it!I think it works on either gender but I think I like it slightly more for a boy (as a NN or on it's own.) I also like Kip as a NN for Christopher.

I like it for a girl and it could be cute on a guy.BTN says that it could be a nn for Christopher, but I'd use Kristopher or Kristoff. I'd find it interesting.
