Much has happened in the last three years for the royal family of Lethia! First, shortly before Silvia's first birthday, Lucian ran away! He left a note hidden in his room, explaining where and why he had gone. He couldn't wait for another year to travel, he said, and wanted to see the world now. He stowed away on a ship bound on a two-year trading voyage. By the time he was found, it was too late to turn back, and by the time they discovered who he was they were two months out to see. Lucian sent regular and glowing letters to his understandably miffed family, occasionally sending back trinkets for everyone from places the ship had docked. His family, though angry, of course forgave him, and life went on. Shortly after Silvia's second birthday, Empress Rose found out she was pregnant again! There was of course rejoicing, and the empire waited eagerly to see how things would go. Rose delivered a full-term and perfectly healthy baby boy, who she and Enrique named Daniel, another name that they both loved, Oliver after Enrique's father, Bernard after Enrique himself, and Thomas after Rose's father. Everyone rejoiced at teh birth of the little prince except Silvia, who had become quite used to being the center of attention. But she very quickly grew to love her brother, and now she is as doting a big sister as anyone could wish.
A few months after Daniel's birth, Lucian returned to great celebration, scolding, and welcome. He had surprises for all of them, the most notable being that he had had a son! He had informed the family of his marriage to Aida, the daighter of a prince-merchant the crew had traded with, asking for their blessing to marry her in a native Gyptian ceremony, as her father would not allow her to accompany him withotu them being married according to theri customs. The family, though disappointed they could not be there, agreed as long as he would have a Lethian ceremony when they returned. But he had not informed them that Aida was pregnant before they left, nor that she had given birth on the ship. They had named their son Farid, a name that means precious in Aida's native language. Everyone rejoiced and celebrated, and Rose and Lucian found it very funny they had given their sons the same last-middle name. Everyoen has taken right to Aida, who is sweet and funny and a wonderfuly storyteeller, and no one can stop cooing over Farid and Daniel. Things are good for the royal house of Glorian.
