I like it a lot. It reminds me of a Norman knight off on a quest.
I prefer Lionel Desmond.

Lionel is the stray cat that we feed in the parking lot. He's a black and white cat with a pleasant purrsonality. I prefer the name on humans, and though I don't like Desmond as a fn, it makes a better combo than Dexter, which to me is a breed of cattle.

I like it... I like Leo-names more (just because I prefer the pronunciation of "leh-o" to "lee-o") but Lionel's still nice. My first thought is Messi, and I don't think that's anything negative.
Wait, how do you pronounce Lionel? I like "lee-o-nell" but not "lie-o-nell"
I do like Dexter as a middle name.

I pronounce Lionel as LYE-a-nel --- the second syllable is said so fast/soft that it sounds a lot like 2 syllables. I like the fact that the word Lion can be heard in it. :0)

I just came up with Eric Lionel the other day. Great minds think a like. I love the Arthurian aspect of Lionel. That long "i" sound is very attractive to me. The whole name sparkles. Lionel is one of those buried treasures that deserves to be rediscovered. Oh, and the train thing is a plus. :-)Lionel Desmond is very handsome. How about:Lionel Ambrose / Emrys
Lionel Vincent
Lionel Stephen
Lionel Owen
Lionel Francis
Lionel Peter / Piers
Lionel Adrian
Lionel Marius
Lionel Eamonn ("AY-mun")
Lionel Felix
Lionel Magnus (= great lion!)
Lionel Cedric
Lionel Jasper
Lionel Emeric
Lionel Gervase
Lionel Edward
Lionel Derek
Lionel Tristan / Tristram
Lionel Esmond
Lionel Benedict
Lionel Hugh
Lionel Stirling
Lionel Theodore
Lionel Asa
Lionel Siegfried
Lionel Frederick

Lionel makes me think of Lionel Messi, so that name is a clear winner for me:) And I love both Dexter and Desmond, fantastic names:)

TrainsI guess a little boy wouldn't mind that though. I don't really mind the train association myself but I thought I'd bring it up.
I have to say that I don't care for your combos. I really hate Dexter in general and Desmond doesn't flow very well for me. How about a shorter middle name?
Lionel Lynn
Lionel Rex
Lionel Glen
Lionel Finn
Lionel Ken
Lionel Remy

I have an English cousin who was crazy about trains growing up. He had an elaborate set up running all around his room, even over his bed. He now works for British Rail. :-) So the Lionel / train thing is a plus in my book. (Hi, William!)I love your combinations Lionel Rex and Lionel Finn. :-)

Hmm... I had thought of Lionel Quinn but thought it sounded a tad feminine. Thanks for your review

I think Quinn sounds good with Lionel. Making combos I found that a lot of short -n names fit well with it.

Well, Lionel Richie and Lionel Hutz are my associations.I don't mind it though. It's just a tad whiny, maybe. I like Lionel Dex and Lionel Des better, just for the flow.
