[Opinions] Rufus
I am really loving the name Rufus right now, I think its super handsome and really a bit quirky.
My bf also love it too which is great. So our top names now are: Ignatius, Daphne and Rufus (with possibles of Archibald, Willoughby, Adelaide and Winifred in there too!)
So what do you think of Rufus? Does it fit well with the names we like? More suggestions.
More than likely I wouldl use the nick name Ru/e (roo) for him as I think its sweet, so it would be Ignatius "Iggy", Daphne "Daph/Daphy" and Rufus "Rue"

I like it - and all your other names, too!
Rufio
From Hook. That's what it reminds me of. I'm indifferent to the name but I like the initial "rue" part of it ;o) I'd actually like to meet one.

Great name!
Great name!
I like Rufus a lot! I agree it's super handsome. It's one of those names I really like in theory and would love to see others use but wouldn't use myself. We've actually had a dog named Rufus but I still think it works very well on a human.
I can't stand Daphne but the other names are really nice and I think they work well together. I guess Rufus and Ignatius are a bit themey but not in a way that it bothers me.

I know a human Rufus! A good man, and a fine bearer of his name.
I like Rufus and Daphne together, but I'm not so keen on the paired -us endings on Ignatius and Rufus. In fact, I could do without Ignatius entirely - I associate it with a local sports star, now middle-aged and working as a TV commentator, who was always known as Naas. He has a distinctive way of speaking which lends itself to caricature.
Can't help noticing Daphne the Bunbun! If you're up for some more trans-species naming, what about Alec Ignatius? I think Alec, Daphne and Rufus would be lovely together.

Yeah, we seem to have picked names for our animals that now we really really like for future kids! Lol, yeah we have a problem with endings, we have a Willoughby, a Daphne, a Barnaby :(
Sharing is good. My DH thought, back in the day, it would be so nice to have a DD named Catherine, nn Katie. Knowing what I did at that time, I courteously declined. Then we bought him a kitten and pointedly named it Katie. So he was happy! And a friend of mine's sister was named after a golden Labrador - Josie. Not Josephine, because the dog's name was Josie ...
I can't get past the naked mole-rat association. I watched lots of Kim Possible as a child so I doubt it'll ever leave.
I think of Rufus as sounding too much like doofus. Beyond that it's alright as a name for man or beast.
good name for a dog
Makes me think more of a dog than a human... Just has canine ruff-ruffiness written all over it.

I rather like Rufus. It does go very well with your other names. Its kinda got that old fashioned offbeat charm to it. Also Ru is a super cute nickname.
