Sorry for the delay in getting this out! Just started my new fall semester and things have been a little hectic! But now I've gotten everything settled, I'll try and get them out about every other day. This round will be pretty free, as you can see by the prompt.

So, enough of my babble...

The Prompt
A few months before the last royal child's first birthday, the Queen was suddenly presented with an orphaned or abandoned child (the story behind this is up to you). Though precedent only dictates that she and the King/Consort find a home for the child, they decide to adopt him/her. How do the people feel about their monarch taking in children like this? What do their families think? And most importantly, what do the royal children think of the newcomer? Everything about the child is up to you--age, sex, background, etc. Their FN and first MN have not been used by anyone in either family, and the last MN honors the Queen. All other MNs are up to you.

Just after Gwyneth and Gabe were born--they were seven weeks old--King Fabrice and Queen Chrysanthe were presented with a pair of lonely, abandoned, orphan six-year-old twins. The twins were found wandering around the streets of Louclaude, the city in which the Queen and King are located. They couldn't understand anything in the language of LaVignette. It was discovered that the twins were from the nearby country of Addlesflügel. Their mother--the twins' father had died when they were very little--had decided she couldn't take care of her children. She didn't feel comfortable dumping them on the streets of her hometown or even the country of her birh, and so she journeyed to LaVignette where she dumped them on the streets of Louclaude, the first big city she came upon.

When the twins came before Fabrice and Chrysanthe, neither could take their eyes off of the poor children. Their hearts went out to them, and Fabrice and Chrysanthe announced that the poor things would find a home with them. The elder twin--a male (I didn't list them in age order; probably should...)--said his name was Isaak and his sister's was Hanna. Since neither could understand the language of LaVignette, Fabrice, who had visited Addlesflügel in his youth and learned their language, spoke to them in their language. Neither twin had a middle name; they were simply Isaak and Hanna. Fabrice and Chrysanthe gave them two middle names, like their own children. They became Isaak Herman Daithi (Daithi is the Irish of David) and Hanna Jessika Elpis.

Shortly after Infanta Lolita and Infante Lupito recovered from their early birth, a messenger arrived in Solandra with sad news. A cousin of Dani's, Luisa, had recently died of an illness, leaving her months-old son orphaned (her husband Jean de Chagny had died in an accident prior to the boy's birth). Dani was quite grieved with the loss of his cousin and childhood companion, but was surprised to hear that along with the messenger, the orphaned boy was also brought! It appears that in her last wishes, Luisa (or Louise de Chagny, as she is now known as) has asked for her son to be brought to her cousin, the king of Solandra, and to be found a place to live. Moved with compassion for the boy, Dani discussed with Ivette what to do, and before long, the boy was adopted into the royal family.

The adopted boy's name was confirmed to be Nicolas Jean-Marie Louis Yves de Chagny, or Duque (duke) Nicolas. Nicolas was a name that he was already given at the time Luisa's messenger brought him to Solandra, Jean-Marie was a double name to honour the late Jean de Chagny and the house of Ramal's tradition of naming Marian names to their offspring, Louis was added to honour the child's mother, and Yves was placed in according to Dani's request to honour his own wife Ivette. Dani and Ivette seemed to dote upon the boy as much as their own, raising him along with Lolita and the Crown Prince Lupito. Carmen was especially delighted to have another hermanito, and Cristina, while a bit more wary with the presence of a stranger in her house, began to like little Nicolas more and more.

Shortly after the births of Princess Victoria and Prince James, it was discovered that one of Queen Agatha’s ladies-in-waiting was pregnant! The court was abuzz with rumors about who the father was, but the lady would not name him. This fueled the rumors that the child was the King’s own progeny, though few actually believed these rumors.

Only a few days before the Royal Twins’ first birthday, the lady-in-waiting went into labor. She gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, but the labor had been long and arduous; the lady was dying quickly. She only had time to hand the child to Queen Agatha, and to beg the Queen to take the baby in. The Queen agreed, for the baby was healthy and beautiful – everything that the Princess Victoria, to be frank, isn’t.

The child was brought to the King and he agreed that the child should be taken in, though he was sure his wife had no intention of naming this child a princess, for she was not of Royal blood. The baby was named a princess, however, in a secret ceremony held by the Queen, where she also named the babe. It is said that the Queen spends more time with Princess Alice than with Princess Victoria, whom (it is said) she still refuses to hold.

(I'm going to have the King and Queen take in Eleanora's niece, but they're not going to legally adopt her and since she is already named after Eleanora, it won't exactly follow your rules. Is that all right?)

Shortly before the first birthday of their royal majesties Princess Victoire and Prince Jacques, The King and Queen found a little girl by the side of the road. She was alone with her little cloth doll without an adult. The King and Queen took her into their care temporarily, and asked around to find out who this little girl's mother was. Then, a week or two before Victoire and Jacques's 1st birthday, after they had been searching for a few months, they decided to adopt her. She was appointed as a princess before the royal court on October the 4th, the day after the royal birthdays of Victoire and Jacques.

Three months beofre Princess Nike and Prince Percival's first birthday something unexpected happened to the noble house of Thanecroft. The Queen was suddenly left with a newborn abandoned child she had found. She wanted to take the boy in but King Dominic wasn't so sure about that. After all, they were the King and Queen, they couldn't just take in all abandoned children and make them Prince's and Princess's.

Ikenna (by the people known as "Ikenna the Fighter") and Callisto (known as "Callisto the beautiful") are growing and Ikenna is making small, but yet important, progress. Still, the doctors say he will never be able to be a ruler of Ontolakis. Lav and Selena are slowly falling in love with each other, but it's fragile. Lav is stressed out, because he feels like a failure unless he can produce a son. Selena is very homesick, and only talks about her family back in the empire of Cordocia, where she's from. She misses her dear sisters the most, but she can't visit them, because there's war in Cordocia and it's impossible to get in contact with the sisters. Needless to say, Selena is worried sick.
One day, a messenger arrives to the castle. He only talks Cordocian, like Selena, and is severely injured. Quickly, Selena runs down to see him. With his last words he says that there have been a bloody revolution in Cordocia and the entire royal family is dead. Selena burst into tears and drops to her knees.
