[Opinions] Ursula?
I just recently remembered how much I loved the name Ursula. I really, really like it! But do you think it's usable?
I think Ursula and Crispin (Which is my top favorite boy's name) would go beautifully together!
I kind of wanted a family name in the middle spot like with my Crispin Henry combo but the only one I can think of is Ursula Catherine and I think it's too long.
So WDYT?

I think that would be an awesome sibset!
Ursula would have to be older though; it just sounds so much older than Crispin IMO...
I don't think Ursula Catherine is too long, but it is a little mismatched. No other family names?
Otherwise, I'd like Ursula Rhiannon, Ursula Rain, Ursula Olive, Ursula Onyx, Ursula Gwen, Ursula Kaia, Ursula Kate (?)

I like Ursula too. I think it's usable. Definitely not common, but usable. I don't think Ursula Catherine is too long at all. I've got combos that are much longer that I still love.
Crispin, on the other hand, I don't like. It's too close to naming a child "crispy" for me. Like, I feel like it could be a fast food. "Crispin' chicken!" I did meet someone named this the other day, and it wasn't quite so bad in person though.

Oh happy, happy day! Callou-callay (sp?)! I'm chortling in my joy.
Of course Ursula is usable. Why wouldn't the most gorgeous name in the universe be usable?
Ursula Catherine is wonderful. I don't find it too long at all. Perhaps if you could tell us what the other family name options are we could come up with a variant or two that might do the trick. My favorite combos might be a bit out there for you. But I can't resist the chance to suggest them:
Ursula Eugenie (just look at all those "u's" flying around)
Ursula Maude
Ursula Ghislaine / Gisele
Ursula Valkyrie
Ursula Mathilde / Matilda
Ursula Clothilde / Clotilda
Ursula Germaine
Ursula Myfanwy
Ursula Rosamund
Ursula Glynis
Ursula Blythe
Ursula Phoebe ("Friends" be d*mned. This was my favorite combo for Ursula before I watched that series.)
Ursula Briar
Ursula Ruby
Ursula Vivien
Ursula Beatrice / Betrys
Ursula Ottilie

More family names +
Oo, I love them all! I really like Ursula Myfanwy, Ursula Blythe, Ursula Bryony and Ursula Verity!
Other family names are:
Glendean (Not a fan)
Mattie Del
Olevy
Gladys
Erica
Lynn
Hazel
Gilda
That's about it really.
Thanks so much!

Gladys! Another underappreciated gem. How can anyone not like a name with "glad" in it? Ursula Gladys would be fantabulous.
But I know Ursula is already pushing the envelope of popular tastes. Ursula Blythe, Ursula Bryony and Ursula Verity seem like they could "pass" for normal. You're taking your life into your own hands with delicious Ursula Myfanwy. :-)
Glendean is interesting. I've started to really get into the idea of Deenie as a nn for Gardenia. Then there's also Glencora, from the "Pallisers" books by Anthony Trollope. Ursula Glencora has a real ring to it. But again, the envelope is being pushed. Ursula Glenna is nice.
Ursula Delphine to honor Del?
Ursula Hazel is very "mainstream" right now, at least in hip, artsy circles.
Gilda really intrigues me. If it means "gold," then how about Ursula Aurelia? The flow isn't what we normally hear. But there's an ancient Roman quality to it that I like. Orla and Oriana also mean gold. But they are too tongue-trippy with Ursula.
Ursula Matilda honors Mattie.
Oh, but I knew there was a little Ursula Gladys being born soon, I could die a happy name-nerd. Just keep that in mind, won't you dear?

Hmmm... even w/out the Disney influence, I'm not a fan of Ursula (esp. the nn Uschi since ushi means cattle in Jpns), but despite my lack of excitement over it, I don't think Ursula Catherine is too long. It flows ok and unless you plan on addressing her in the double name format, it shouldn't be a problem.
Ursula is a cool name. I used to think it was too dark because of "The Little Mermaid" comparison, but now I really like it. Ursula Catherine is pretty.
I don't like Crispin, though.

I like it a lot - I find it very usable. (I find it more usable than Crispin, to be honest).
Ursula Catherine is a beautiful, soft combo and not too long at all. Love it!
