[Opinions] WDYTO...Alice
This name popped into my head recently and I really like it. I think it's a very sweet, lovely name.

not exciting, but ok... at least it's a sensible name and not some weird made-up "what were those parents thinking?" sort of name... nms, but usable.

My new most favorite girl name. I love it. I originally just really wanted a full name for Allie, and decided on Alice, a name I was just meh on. Now it's grown on me so much it's replace my old most favorite name, Olive.

I'm naming my first daughter this.

I wanted to name my first daughter Lucy, but then I got a cat and was at a stage where I didn't believe that I'd ever have children. My honey actually said to name our first daughter this anyway. He'd kill the cat. He was kidding, but it still wasn't funny.

I quite like Alice. Unfortunately, it's one of those classics I predict to be on the rise (along with Charlotte, Henry and Oliver). I hope I'm wrong here.

Me, too. I like that it's a very normal name in the top 500, but that hasn't been super popular in the past few years.

I've always loved both Alice and Alison, but especially Alice. Having run out of daughters, I gave it to a very beautiful, aloof and elegant tabby cat (Alice the Alley Cat, and her sister Katie the Kitty lived with us for 20 and 19 years respectively) and it was very successful. For a human, I'd enjoy the retro feel of Alice Emily.

Our last name is a horrible name to find names to go with and this one goes very well. Burgoon. You try finding names you like that sound good with this last name.

I think I'm the only one on these boards that hates Alice. I just don't get it - it has the word 'lice' in it and rhymes with mice, vice etc. And while I usually like 'old grandma' names, Alice is one I think should stay on a grandma. I also usually like short names, but Alice is not anything special, nor is it pretty. It's so simple to the point where it's bland and dull. ABOVE ALL, however, I really dislike the sound of it.

um... so yeah it may read 'lice'... but when its said, it is supposed to be sad 'Al-liss'... so maybe thats why its liked?

In my accent (and I think in most accents?) the -lice is like "liss", not lice/mice/vice.

I like it. I find it soft and sweet, but at the same time, it has substance and works well for a variety of personalities and ages.

I like it! It's sweet without being frilly or exclusively little-girl-ish.Edit: Does anyone think it will become popular because of the Alice in Wonderland movie?

I think it might become more popular due to the Twilight series rather than Alice in Wonderland.

It's pretty in a simple way. I think it makes a great middle name.

It is my grandmother's name, and also her two grandmothers' names. Long family history, so thumbs up from me.

I like it, but not enough to use it.
