There are three new additions to the Barrett-Kirkbride clan!
Eloise was overjoyed to get pregnant soon after she and Gerry got married--she was afraid that due to her age, it would be harder--but her pregnancy was fraught with complications and problems, and little Charlotte Grace was born 8 weeks early. She spent a tense week in the NICU, with Eloise and Gerry beside themselves with worry. However, she emerged tiny, but healthy and happy, and has had no problems since. The boys are enjoying having another little sister around--they had really bonded with Mia--and Eloise and Gerry were glad to give Mia a little sister, but have decided that with five children, they are done for good.
Later in the year, Dorian and Nastya had a baby boy! They named him Nikita, after Nastya's father, despite the eye-rollings and the "isn't that a girl's name" comments, which greatly annoyed Nastya, who allowed Dorian to give him the middle name Wolf since she felt bad that he didn't have much of a say on his son's first name. Nikita is a plump, happy baby that took his time getting here (Nastya was induced at a whopping 42 weeks).
Lastly, Cecilia and Alex were shocked to find out during their anatomy scan that they were expecting twins! (Although, given the Barrett-Kirkbride track record of twins, Cecilia wasn't as shocked as Alex was). Their two favorite names before they found out they were having twins were Robert and Anne, when Liz ruefully pointed out that those were the names of the Bobbsey Twins, Cecilia and Alex thought it was too good to pass up. However, they didn't stick with the old-fashioned nicknames of Bert and Nan, going for Robin and Annie instead.
