Joseph and Iris have just immigrated to Vermont. They're origanally from Dublin, but since they're poor and starving they decided to move the land in west! Iris' parents didn't approve of Joseph, so Iris has no contact with them anymore.
Now they live with Josephs cousins in a small town in Vermont.
