What do you think of Heather for Hedda's new name? Thanks.

don't know who Hedda is, but I prefer Hedda to Heather. Heather has a tweeness in the UK that I don't like. A Brigadoon kind of Scottish name.

I've always enjoyed Heather: it was never resoundingly popular where I live, and I like its gentle floral feel. Plus, I used to know a Great Dane called Hedda! She was a totally delightful dog, but she was a dog.

It's dated and rather mean girlish, yet I unaccountably like it. It's soft and pretty for me.

She's a mermaid? I missed your other posts. But, how about Halimeda. Means "cares for the sea," was the name of an obscure mythological Nereid, and is also the name of a common seaweed. Hal-ih-MEH-da / Hal-ih-MAY-da.

I don't like it. It's fine on a human, but it's too earthy for a mermaid/sea witch.
Maybe Helen, Helena, Helene, Honor, Honora, Hadassah, Harah...?
