Henry’s belief that the war would come to a swift end was proved wrong – slowly, things began to fall apart for all. However, short-lived happiness would come in the fom of a new Prince, Edward. While at first it appeared that Henry was winning the battles, the rebels soon re-gathered and came back fighting stronger than ever. Both the army, on the orders of Baron FitzGilbert, as well as the rebels, left a trail of destruction behind them. Upon Henry’s orders, rebels and traitors who were captured were to be executed, their property seized, their families put to shame. Henry was finally fed up, he could not believe how out of control the people had become, that they dare question his divine superiority. Yet, those who remained loyal were well compensated, and Queen Morgana continued to reach out to those in need. She had formed a plan of her own, not confiding in Henry, she was determined to do all that was necessary to eradicate the rebels and rebuild the nation.Morgana had been visiting prisoner’s who had been suspected of treason in the main prison, The Tower of ?. Among them were the Duke and Duchess of Slovene, who had been imprisoned for the last 4 years or so. Their daughter Miriam had betrayed them to Henry, and in doing so, Henry seized the opportunity to compile a huge case against them, he finally had the evidence he was looking for, as he had long suspected they had been the masterminds behind the entire plot. Morgana would make regular visits to all prisoners, bringing food, bibles, clothes, blankets, and occasionally lending her ear when there were no guards present. Her sympathy grew, and she had made up her mind, she would attempt to free the leaders of the rebels. In her reasoning, she truly believed that the rebels would cease their attack on her family and the Kingdom in return for their freedom. The plan was set in motion. On one particularly cold, quiet night, Morgana set out for the prison, poisoned the guards and freed the Duke and Duchess on their word that they would put a cease to the war. A battle soon broke out after the guards and Henry were alerted to a break out. The Duke and Duchess seized their opportunity, holding an injured Morgana as a ransom, Henry had no choice but to surrender, vowing that he would never surrender his crown, break out, reclaim his rightful place and seek revenge on the Duke. For the past year, Henry, Morgana and the children have been kept prisoner in the Tower, biding their time. Henry was furious with Morgana for her betrayal, yet a strong woman in her own right, Morgana was not about to grovel and beg for forgiveness. It was a trait that Henry both hated and loved about her, so instead they focused their energy on gathering information from the outside world. They knew that there was a large majority who were still loyal to him, no doubt they were plotting to rescue Henry's family. The people in Henry's court were some of his most trusted acquaintances, and Henry was certain they were a the very least making life difficult for the Slovene’s. Then one night, Henry and Morgana had been joined by a most unexpected guest, Count Ezio, who had somehow managed to break into the prison. Surprised beyond belief, Morgana believed he was their saviour – yet Count Ezio had not yet spoken, instead locked in stare-down with Henry. Just what was the Count’s agenda? At that moment, however, Morgana went into labour and gave birth to a much longed for daughter – Princess Rosalie, who possessed the combined beauty of both her parents.
