What are your opinions on this neglected gem of a name? I pronounce it "TEK-la," and I find it enchantingly, unusually, and richly beautiful.

my mom teaches a Thekla!

I like it a lot. I'm more used to seeing the k in there but the c makes it very organic and calm.

I'm sure it's a beautiful name in theory, but both the spelling and the pronunciation prevent me from getting past 'Tecla', which means 'key' as in keyboard or keypad in Portuguese. I really like some of the middle names, though, including the lovely Winifred.

I love it (but I prefer Thekla). It's kinda harsh sounding, so I think it needs a softer middle name.

I like it. I had a dog named Tekla who I loved very much so it makes me think of her. I'm not sure I like the look of Thecla though. I much prefer Thekla or just Tekla. It is indeed a neglected name and I would love to see it used more.

I love Thekla - this spelling. My brother had a friend called Adrian who had sister Vivian and Thekla. I thought it was a great sibset though I don't like Adrian overly.

I like Thecla Roisin and Thecla Vivian.

w/ a c, it almost looks like "The Claw" smushed together w/ the w dropped... not a fan. Meaning's ok though. Still not one I would choose.

Also, looking at the original Greek spelling, it is a th sound and not just a silent h. The theta gives it away. I do prefer it w/ the k. Still prob'ly nms, but better... ok on someone else's kid, I suppose.
